Leading Food Waste Technology Company Orbisk Officially Launches in U.S. Market

Nov 13, 2025 | Press Release

Orbisk takes on the annual 60 million ton food waste problem in the U.S. following successful partnerships with Accor, Hyatt, Carnival Cruise Line

Miami, FL; November 13, 2025 Orbisk, the world’s leading provider of food waste technology, announced it has officially launched in the United States hospitality market. Building on its proven success with global hospitality leaders including Accor, Hyatt, and Carnival Cruise Line, Orbisk is expanding into the U.S. market to tackle the country’s significant contribution to the 1.3 billion tons of food wasted globally each year.

Orbisk helps professional kitchens eliminate food waste to drive cost savings and increase kitchen efficiency with its plug-and-play hardware and AI-powered insights. The fully automated “Orbi” device fits seamlessly into everyday kitchen routines, helping teams track and reduce food waste effortlessly. Using advanced AI-powered image recognition, it instantly identifies and weighs over 800 ingredients with no manual input, setup, or training required. Within minutes, food waste becomes visible and manageable through an intuitive dashboard. Guided by AI, smarter kitchens cut waste, lower costs, and boost efficiency, allowing staff to focus on what matters most: delivering exceptional dining experiences and happier guests.

The announcement comes on the heels of announcing a major partnership with Carnival Cruise Line and the roll out of an AI-Powered product feature. Earlier this year, Orbisk announced that it had developed a motion-resistent AI model together with Carnival Cruise Line, so their food waste tracing technology could adapt for cruise lines. In just the first six months of Carnival Cruise Line using Orbisk technology, combined with other decisive onboard measures, culinary teams have been able to align prep to per-person demand 17% more accurately, accelerating decision-making across thousands of daily meals.

In October, Orbisk announced the new AI-Powered Actions. This new feature goes beyond monitoring food waste: it analyzes kitchen waste patterns and recommends the most effective next steps. Through a personalized dashboard, chefs and kitchen managers gain clear, data-driven guidance to elevate their kitchen’s performance and cut waste with confidence.

With nearly 1,000 systems active globally across hotels, restaurants, and cruise lines, Orbisk helps kitchens cut up to €65,000 in losses and 10,000 kg of food waste per site, per year. Orbisk recently raised €8 million in an oversubscribed Series A led by Regeneration.VC and PeakBridge to accelerate its global expansion.

“We are proud to bring Orbisk’s gamechanging, easy-to-use technology to the $1.5 trillion foodservice sector in the U.S.,” said Anastasia Dellis, CEO of Orbisk. “With 1.3 billion tons of food wasted every year, Orbisk enables kitchens to be more sustainable, more efficient, and less costly.”
