On the zero waste mission, global ambition, and why Asia Pacific is next

Orbisk’s Vision & Momentum

Orbisk has grown rapidly in recent years. How do you describe the company’s focus today?

Orbisk is focused on one clear goal: eliminating food waste and enabling a net-zero food system by globally leading food waste intelligence.

Over the past years, we’ve proven that food waste reduction is not just a sustainability initiative, but a performance lever. When kitchens measure food waste properly, they save money while improving efficiency and making better decisions every day.

Today, our focus is on scaling that impact. That means supporting more operators, in more regions, with technology that works across different cuisines and operational realities.

What does “global leadership” mean to you in practice?

Global leadership is about being relevant everywhere you operate. For Orbisk, that means combining strong local execution with a consistent, data-driven platform that customers can rely on across regions.

It also means building intelligence at scale. The more professional kitchens we support, the better our insights become. This results in the best service for customers everywhere.

Why Asia Pacific, Why Now

Why is Asia Pacific such an important region for Orbisk’s next phase of growth?

Asia Pacific is the fastest-growing food service region in the world. Operators are scaling quickly while food costs are rising, and expectations around sustainability and reporting are increasing.

At the same time, APAC represents the largest share of global food waste. Governments in markets like Singapore are introducing clearer requirements around measuring and reducing waste, and operators are actively looking for solutions that help them stay ahead.

For Orbisk, this makes APAC a region where impact, demand, and readiness are strongly aligned.

What challenges do food service operators in APAC face today?

Many operators are balancing growth with margin pressure. Managing complex menus and diverse cuisines at scale is now paired with the expectation to reduce costs and make sustainability performance visible and measurable.

Without clear data, food waste remains invisible. And when waste is invisible, it’s very hard to manage. That’s where Orbisk comes in by providing clarity, structure, and clear solutions at the kitchen level.

What Orbisk Brings to the Region

How does Orbisk support operators as they scale in APAC?

Orbisk helps operators turn food waste data into daily operational decisions. Our platform provides clear insights for kitchen teams, actionable reporting for management, and measurable results across locations.

Importantly, the solution adapts to local cuisines and workflows. Reducing waste in a hotel in Singapore looks different from doing so in Europe, which is why Orbisk continuously listens to customer feedback to ensure the technology evolves in line with real operational needs.

What does Orbisk’s expansion mean for international brands operating across regions?

For global and regional brands, Orbisk offers consistency. One approach to food waste measurement and reduction, supported by a global platform, with insights that are locally relevant.

This allows operators to benchmark across regions, roll out best practices more effectively, and align sustainability goals with financial performance — without adding operational complexity.

Looking Ahead: Where Orbisk Is Going Next

How do you see Orbisk evolving over the next few years?

Orbisk is moving from being a fast-growing European leader to a truly global reference platform for food waste intelligence.

That means deeper regional presence, stronger partnerships, and continued investment in AI, data, and product innovation. As our data scale grows, so does the value we deliver to customers.

What does success in APAC look like for Orbisk?

Success means customers seeing real, measurable results: less food waste, lower food costs, and more confident sustainability reporting.

It also means being a long-term partner — supporting operators as they grow, adapt, and respond to new regulatory and market demands.

Personal Perspective

What excites you most about this next chapter for Orbisk?

What excites me is the scale of impact we’re unlocking next. Orbisk already works with global hospitality and foodservice leaders operating across regions, including Asia Pacific. Deepening our presence there is a natural next step. It allows us to broaden our impact and deliver even more value to customers who expect one standard, one partner, and proven results everywhere they operate.

We’re ready for this phase. Over the past year, we’ve laid the foundations to scale globally, from product maturity to operational readiness and regional expertise. Demand is clear, and Orbisk is built to meet it. We’re expanding with confidence because we know our technology delivers measurable results, regardless of cuisine, format, or geography.

A Final Message

If you could send one message to food service operators in APAC, what would it be?

Food waste is not an unavoidable cost of doing business. It’s one of the clearest and fastest levers operators have to improve margins, strengthen sustainability performance, and future-proof their operations.

The kitchens that lead tomorrow are already acting today. With the right data and the right partner, food waste becomes visible, manageable, and measurable — and the results follow quickly. Zero waste isn’t a long-term ambition. It’s the new standard, and it starts now.
